If the computer recognizes your camera you don't need HP Photo Smart. The easy way to check is go to START, MY COMPUTER. once you have the view of your computer plug in and turn on your camera. Watch to see if the computer recognizes. You should hear a beep and it will assign it a drive. If it shows up you can use Windows Explorer to move your pictures from the camera in any folder you want. (HP is only looking for HP cameras) your computer doesn't care.

If your not familiar with Windows explorer go to START, PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES and you'll see it there. You can look at the contents of any drive, copy it, move it or delete it. Be careful when deleting - if your not sure the safe answer is don't delete it. Hope this helps -
