rover 416 hard to start wont keep runing?

had a head gasket replaced 400 mil ago water level is ok changed coil &crank sensor checked compression is good changed cap plugs still no joy

Check for fuel starvation. The symptoms are usually caused by fuel faults-even running out of petrol. To check this remove the fuel filler cap and rock the car from side to side. If there is no sloshing noise refiil it with fuel. Try to start the engine if it fails take it to a mechanic.
