i have a Memorex MVD 2045 DVD player with a bad fuse.

I looked for a T 1.6A L250v p fuse and radio shack only had a 1.5 A 250 v fuse which blew immediately when i turned on the player.

My player will also not play mpeg 1 DVD videos when another MVD 2045 will play these DVD disks. Any ideas on a firmware upgrade to read these dvd's?

a busted fuse suggest an "overload" in your system. a 0.1A difference is not the cause of blow up on the replacement fuse. another component on that circuit is in trouble, usually a transistor before the multi-voltage-output transformer
