How to reset Scantronic 9454 after control panel battery change ?

A friends Scantronic 9454 alarm has had it's control panel battery replaced but now 3 LEDs are flashing (fault ,tamper, service).I have tried resetting by the instruction manual and have tried most of the options available in the FAQ's and their answers on this site.I had thought that refreshing the NVM and taking the codes (including engineers)back to default might let me in to the system to reset it but this results in an instant alarm when I take my screwdriver away from the shorted RST contacts and seemingly has not reverted back to default codes. Please has anyone out there any ideas,I would be most grateful, thanks.
Mike.

Hey Mike,
I've got the same problem as you had. Same alarm model and same lights flashing.
Could you tell me how you resolved the problem.
Many thanks
Dan

Make sure that you have not created any short circuits at the pc board when changing the battery, i.e. wires touching eachother at the inputs. Tighten all inputs with a screwdriver.
