My beko dishwasher fills with water, but won't wash? Any ideas?

I have a Beko DE 2431 FW slimline dishwasher, that up until 2 days ago worked fine. Now, when I set it to wash on rapid wash it fills with water but does not move onto wash mode? I have to empty the water by hand as it won't drain away when I stop it. Any ideas?
