recorded messages are distorted on BT freestyle 2500?

When recorded messages are left on the base answering machine, the speech is so distorted it is impossible to decipher the message which has been left by callers.
The pre-recorded message heard by callers when answering machine clicks in is as clear as a bell, but not on the left messages?
Can anyone help resolve this problem otherwise system(ie. all handsets work perfectly)
Mrs M.H. Alderton, June 2009
I have the same problem. I guess it is because the digitisation of the saved message is out of phase with the digitisation of the origanal, all at low frequency to save use of memory. The industry are deliberately cheap (perhaps we only buy the cheapest so force them to be), but hopefully will improve their standards eventually. That is no solution to the current problem, sorry.
