Renault Scenic check parking brake alert?

I've got 55 plate grand scenic and getting the 'check parking brake' error. Had it into renault dealer they reset it but have said error keeps recurring. They've quoted £700+ to replace computer. Seems extrortionate and ridiculous (only 25000 miles on clock). Any ideas what to do?

I have the same dreaded 'Check Parking Brake' error and have also been quoted 700 for a new computer. They suspect corrosion from the salting the roads !
The error has been cleared several times so i reckon the battery is fine.
The handbrake appears to work fine but im a little cautious about parking on a hill !
Anyone know for sure how this can be rectified without full replacement ?
Its obviously not uncommon

I have a similar problem with my scenic. The glove box light was always on and I just disconnected it. Now the error is still there. Once I fix the glove box how do I do the resert.

i have the same problem ever since it was serviced, i have noticed that the handbrake is alot tighter on driver side and if im crawling in traffic you can hear the brake on that side catching. Also squeals when using brakes (pads and discs are fine) Not sure how to set the hand brake though. Also the only way i know how to reset the system without a diagnostic machine is to remove the battery over night

It's probably a low battery. Is your glove box light continualy on due to a bad fit? Check this, or check if anything else is draining the battery. If this is the problem, once it's been sorted the reset should work. Let me know if this is the cause.
