If the light comes on when using the foot brake then the brake pads will require changing

Is the brake light the yellow one on the left side of the panel? If its that one and it only comes on when the car is in motion and goes off when the car is parked the it will be an ABS sensor, you will need to find out which one and replace it, euro car parts are good for prices and always seem to be in stock

the oil you are looking for is LHM hydrolic fluid it is green in colour do not use break fluid as it will rot the hydrolic seals check the big black container at the righthand side under the bonnet the glass with two red lines has an umbrella shaped plastic float it should be flush with the top mark with the suspention set at its highest level

if filling brake fluid did not work try you handbrake switch
mounted next to your hand brake could be faulty and will need replacing

Would check your pads and brake system for leaks,if the pads are fine top up the brake master cyl. with brake fluid,on no account put any other type of oil in there!
