Buttons do not work?

My memorex will play , until you need to hit to start the movie, fast forward, back and pause buttons do not work? any way to repair this?

I am assuming that you are refering to a dvd player? if so does it work ok from the remote? if it does go into the setup menu and make sure the child lock has not been put on
