How long will my timing belt last on my Ducati ST4?

They say to change every 12K miles, however as 95% of
mine is on the motorway I wonder if I can get more out of it ?

Mine lasted 12,800 miles before it broke. Replace them now.

not really its the engine doing the miles so you had better change it when it says really a risk of snapping valves off in the head is a big expense,i have changed them before they are easy to do unlike people will lead you to believe and the belts are not expensive approx £40 for a pair which is alot cheaper than valves pistons and cylinder heads do whats best for it mate and it will serve you well.:)ADAM
