Dell D630 - Lattitude powers up but nothing on display ?

Hello

I wonder if anyone can help.

I have a Dell-D630 Lattitude laptop, for last couple of weeks I am struggling to start up the laptop. At some occasions, the laptop starts up when turned on, showing the initial boot-up information with Dell logo etc, even sometimes it goes beyond showing the Windows should be started in Safe mode n all. At this stage, the screen just blanks out, and fails to load, showing only power signal on the right top indicators. It seems there is no response from the hard disk as everything else looks switched off (I mean looking at the indicators on the right top). The laptop also has the bluetooth indicator, that keeps on along with Power indicator. But nothing else happens, the laptop just looks as it is literally dead.

In some cases, it literally dies at the first place, i.e. not even display anything on the screen, but power indicator on along with bluetooth indicator on.

I tried to check if I can hear the hard disk sound, and I can say I hear it for the first time when you turn on the power, but then it seems to have no response whatsoever.

At this point I am unable to find the root cause of the issue, whether it is:

- Hard Disk died
- Screen not able to display anything so screen issue?
- Unfortunately I don't have the boot DVD but I believe it would hardly make any difference.

Any suggestions, comments are welcome.
