Fisher & Paykel ED 56 u dryer?

I replaced the capacitor and now the dryer works fine but a scraping sound started and I found a bit of flat springy brass wire in the bottom of the cabinet. It looks like a large (100 mm x 60 mm) fish hook with lacquer on it.

Looks like it might have come off the motor.

Will the dryer work OK without it?

It is one of two motor mounting spring clips holding the motor to the motor mounting bracket

Never seen anything like that in a F&P dryer before. If you have a local dryer service company near by then you could take the piece in and show them. They may be able to identify it when they see it. Otherwise if dryer is running okay and sound has gone then leave it out and run without it.
