Starts to fill and then stops,starts to fill and stops again. Now doesent want to even do that

Thanks David, that is error code 43 which means the out of balance switch is faulty (probably corrosion) so the machine will not start because it thinks the load is out of balance. You need to change the switch. Turn power off and unplug from the wall socket. Open the top panel. The microswitch is under the right hand end of the main control box. Take the one screw out holding the control box front edge. Lift the control box up to reveal the switch. Disconnect the 2 wires on switch and remove it. Pull it straight up gently because it is only held in with 2 plastic pins which break off easily. Fit new switch, put wires back on either way around. Job done. You can get those switches from an electrical wholesale shop or electronics store.

Then it will start beeping to tell you to check the error code. What is it? When it beeps, before pressing any buttons look at the 8 lights along the top row. Count from left to right and note exactly which lights are on & which are off. Post the result back here.
