I have a 2.5sri and suffer the same trouble, been told it could be a fuel tank problem whereby, the fuel trap in tank is loose. New fuel tank could solve this, cheapest ive seen is £90+delivery. Cant find any details on removal or fitting.

My Vectra does the same only when I have about a quater of a tank of fuel I was told certain models a a second fuel tank under the rear seat which when low on fuel gets clogged up untill you refuel. I am running my car low on fuel and taking a look and cleaning it out Fingers crosed that will solve the problem.

its the mass air flow meter... this is located on the pipe that comes from the air box or in your case your new air filter that goes to the throttle body when you changed your air filter you may not have plugged the connector back into it or you may have it the wrong way round ( there is an arrow for the direction of air flow on it to indicate which way round it goes ) for a small bit of plastic these things are expensive theyre around £100 to replace

Sounds like an enigne management system problem, or alternatively the disrubiter, chek these for wear or any corrison
