Windows Messenger?

Everytime I log on to the internet a box comes up saying:A newer version ( of MSN Messenger )is available. You must install the newer version. Would you like to do this now? I click yes,it installs, great. The next time I log I've got to go through the same procedure and this is happening all the time. Any ideas? I'm using window xp. Thankyou.

I don't have an answer, but you're not alone. I never ever use Messenger, and the frequency of this message makes me wonder if it's a trojan or a virus.

Do you have Administrator rights to install new software? It sounds as though you may not and so the installation you think you are completing is not actually being done.
