Does MSN leave a file or do messages take up computer space?

My daughters use MSN

I heard a computer boff say that he had a progam so he could retrieve the messages to see what his kids are up to.

I'm not woried about this too much but I am concerned that MSN is using files or memory......if so how can these items (& others) be removed to save space, clean up & speed up the computer

Yes, what your looking for is under "tools" then "options". Then in the left hand panel choose "messages". Then in the right hand side you will find at the bottom about where your messages are stored and a small box. If it is ticked, your messages are saved, if not then they are not.

yes a feature in msn does record the msn conversatgions, however its only a tiny text file, and comsumes very little space at all. you can turn this feature on/off in msn under options i think.
