the passenger door lock is not working. it cannot be locked from the inside or out. i stripped the door lining away, but could not get the locking system out from the door cavity. the car is a ford fiesta 1800 diesel on an s plate

To remove the door lock - remove panel, remove sheet, make sure window is up, cut away the black bonding agent on the black casing, open door unscrew top screw, inside door unscrew screw bottom towards the back of the door, remove black casing, door open again unscrew 3 remaining screws then unclip the rods from the locking mecahnism inside the door and pull away. Not sure on the fixing part am going to put a post up myself on that.
