why does my keyboard not type the pound symbol?

my keyboard won't type the pound symbol, also when i press the @ key it type " and visa versa. any clues? p.s i've changed my language from ENGLISH US to ENGLISH UK.

from control panel select "date, time etc"--then select "regional and language options"--then select "languages" then click on "details"

the easit way to solve this is >>>go to help in start menu then search for keyboard layout chosse the first thing it finds and change your settings by there, setting to uk but remember to delete us keyboard settings when you have set the uk keyboard layout as somtimes it returns back i hope this helps

took a bit of fiddling and i can't remember exactly how i did it, but i do remember that i went thru all the control settings that had anything to do with languages and changed them all to "english uk" go thru it all and change everything to this language and you should be fine. it took me some time as there was a setting that i missed ( something to do with your preferred language) have a fiddle, you can't go wrong
