every time i try to sign into msn messenger a message comes up saying 'we were unable to sign you into .net messenger service because of a problem with the service or your internet conection an then the number 0x81000301'
i know my internet is working an there is nothing rong wiv the service or my account as i can get on, on all my mates computers.
it wont even let me onto tha site to change my .net passport!
i really do not no wot is rong an i miss goin on msn so please please please will someone help me!

i had the same error, i couldn't log into messenger or ebay. i tried everything but couldn't get it working. In the end i used www.remotesolutions.org.uk they remote controlled my pc over the internet and resolved the problem.

First open a command prompt by clicking start, then run. In the "run" screen, type: cmd and press enter. You get a command prompt window now. Now, type the following commands and press enter after each command: * regsvr32 softpub.dll * regsvr32 Wintrust.dll * regsvr32 Initpki.dll * regsvr32 Dssenh.dll * regsvr32 Rsaenh.dll * regsvr32 Gpkcsp.dll * regsvr32 Sccbase.dll * regsvr32 Slbcsp.dll * regsvr32 Mssip32.dll * regsvr32 Cryptdlg.dll You can now close the command prompt screen and Messenger should work correctly again. U MAY HAVE 2 REBOOT FIRST!

if you have recently installed windows service pack 2 then uninstall it.it causes messenger to fail.
