potterton profile 80e not working?

no pilot light showing. is there a manual ignition button to press? or is it an automatic ignition system. This fault has happened intermittently over the last year and clears for no reason of its own accord but this time it has been off for two days.

Thanks for the reset info. Our boiler is now working again.
Sad that this simple advice isn't available from the Potterton website.

We acquired the same boiler 4 weeks ago and the hot water stopped working. Couldn't find any restart etc. type buttons but hey presto we now have hot water again! Thank you very much 8 years later.

d.. not sure where you are now but your answer from 2005 is still helping people! Like me and my family. We moved into this house three months ago and no heating today, on a Saturday night; and no manual. So thank you - seven years later.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Boiler dead and house freezing - one call to British Gas, coming to look tomorrow! One reference here, in five minutes found out about 'secret' restart button and boiler instantly started and house is warming. Cheers!

I didn't know about the reset button and just got home after a long weekend away, returning to a freezing house!

Just messed around with it for 15 mins, dumb founded. Looked on the web, found this page, located the hidden Reset button and voila! Thanks :-)

there are three possible problems. Starting with the ceapest. The air line is blocked , kinked or loose. The air pressure switch is faulty. Bridge out with care for test purpouse only. DO NOT TRY TO RUN IN THIS CONDITION. The fan is not running at its cortrect speed or not at all.

it is automatic ignition but check if the pump is running, if so try to reset the boiler to do this there is a reset button under the boiler located through a small hole in the bottom plastic cover the hole is about the size of a 10p the button is red with cross on it..
