Today when I turned on my tv it began to come on but shut down and now the power button only clicks and nothing is happening, what is going on? The is no picture and the unit doesn't even try to come on now.

We took the tv in to a repair shop and a switch was blown. So it's fixed now.

If there's no sign of life at all, the internal fuse(s) are most likely to have blown, in which case you probably have a short circuit in the power supply.

If you live in an outlying area you may be lucky and just the fuse is blown due to power fluctuations. If you change the fuse it must be replaced with exactly the value and type of the original.

If you have a standby light (usually red light) the power supply is most likely ok, (as it's able to supply the 5V for the light) so the fault is probably in the line output (high voltage areas of the tv).
