Miele Novotronic W980 Leaking Door Seal?

Noticed tear in door seal rubber (chunk taken out by bra wire), drips abated with duck tape bodge, but this failed with time.

But some additions/changes to note on above instructions (which were very helpful):

1) Recessed screw detailed is Torx 15 not Philips on my model

2) 2 X Torx 15 which retain the detergent compartment need to come out (this was not mentioned). I had the same large bolts at 2, 6 and 10 o'clock around the door seal and very similar retaining clip to underside of bottom left of door)

3) Nut and washer on wire band have evolved a bit; you'll find a threaded metal plate approx 1cm square with two upturned edges to capture the retaining wire band clamp + washer under slotted hex bolt head

4) Mark retaining wire screw thread with marker pen to show factory position/tightness.

5) Mark position of rubber protrusion at 12 o'clock on door seal by using marker pen on drum surround; it will help you get the rubber into the right place and notice how far back to the drum the door seal fits before you rip it off!

6) After fitting the rear of the door seal and wire band to the drum surround, be sure the front of the seal extends all the way from the aperture to a machined crease in the chassis casing.

7) Take photo of the door seal/wire band/drum surround from the top to make sure you get seal back into right place.

8) Take photo of the front of the seal to chassis surround to make sure the new seal position matches crease mentioned in (6) above.
