how can I fix my Thetford Toilet?

Please please help, our cassette toilet flush stopped working, so my husband checked the fuse of the toilet, which was fine, so we bought a new pump, my husband fitted the new pump, and it still does not work, and when we then checked the old pump, we found the old pump was working anyway, so we spent £31 pounds on a pump and that wasn't the problem. My husband checked the fuse again and all the fuses in the caravan and they are all ok, pump is brand new and fitted correctly and still no flush, so can anyone else please let us know what else it could be, thank you so much. look inside the cassette toilet housing after taking out the cassette underneath by a switch there is an in line fuse with a screw cap undo the cap then u will find a glass 3amp fuse which normally blows.the fuse is seperate from your normal fuses that u find i hope this helps.

Sorry - my previous post is a red herring as float arm only controls the full indicator and not the pump. Faulty switch still an option though as identified by earlier poster - but not in my case so maybe I really do have a faulty pump??

I have the same problem and have just researched for the answer assuming the pump is not faulty and can report as follows.
1 The push button could be faulty - Thetford do have a service pdf for this on their website.
2 The float arm could be dislodged inside the tank( due to excessive shaking when emptying) which apparently stops the pump from working as the magnet is no longer near to the magnetic switch that is also in the pump circuit.
Hope this helps
Off now to see if any of these fix my problem???

What a coincidence we have just discovered the same problem and we are off on Thursday morning for a month! We have only got as far as the fuse and that is OK - in my quest for clues we have just had a caravan mover fitted with a 110v battery instead of the usual 12v. You haven't by chance ?(clutching at straws).

hello there, have you tried checking for any loose concetions or it could be the pump switch itself hope this helps.
