Just had a quick look on ebay for you, the replacement screen would cost £129.99 (http://search.ebay.co.uk/Toshiba-Satellite-A100-screen_W0QQ_trksidZm37QQfromZR40QQssPageNameZRC0021), not sure if you can change the screen around or not urself, otherwise it would probably be an addition £50 - £75 p/h to have a qualified geek change it over :o)
If you do decide to change it over then I would recommend downloading a manual for the said machine and it should give you technical details on how to safely remove the screen (sledgehammer optional)
If it helps most laptops will have a VGA output so you can use an external screen should your one die a death. Guess its a means to an end if your as moneystrapped as the rest of us gearing up to the xmas period!!!
