How do i switch on the wireless capability on my laptop?

Make: Packard Bell
Model: E2315

I have just joined AOL BB and for reasons unknown to me i am not able to connect to the router wirelessly. (Currently using ethernet cable). WLAN light is lit on the router and my neighbour is able to detect the network so it must be my laptop.

Having asked several people i keep getting a similar response that i need to switch on the button that is on my laptop. I have searched for his button but there is nothing externally to 'switch on'.

Can anyone help to to activate the wireless capability please?

If you don't have a switch - some do some don't - then you will need a key sequence to switch the wireless on and all PCs are different. However it will be in the User Manual that you got with the PC or the PC's built-in Help screens.
