How do you take apart an Electrolux Epic 6500 vacuum cleaner?

We have an Epic 6500 vacuum by Electrolux. We need to repair the on/off switch. The vacuum must be taken apart to access the switch area. We do not know how to take apart this vacuum.
Please tell me how to take apart an Electrolux Epic 6500 vacuum.

No it is not.
You have to slide very thin screwdriver between gray part of bag receptacle and side bumper (about 1 inch), that frees two teeth ,noched on the bumper. Slide bumpers off .... enjoy the guts.

I followed someones instructions. Lay on side slide strips off, takes 10 min,...Ya right. It sounds easy but doesn't work, I followed the other instructions too. I even removed the rubber bumper, No matter how hard I pulled and hammered the strip is locked in place and doesn't slide off. The strip is free and will slide back and forth a 1/4 of an inch, but doesn't move more than that, it hits something. The plastic strip is all cuffed up now but still OK. The WEB IS USELESS

If you want to open the machine, the two bumpers on either side, that say ELECTROUX ( or a model number) hold the egg shell case together. This is the process....

1. remove the bag, leave the bag cover open
2. lay the vacuum on its side on the floor with the bag cover to your right hand side, make sure it is still open.
3. place screw driver blade flat against the bumper on the opposite end from the bag cover, near the cordwinder cover, strike the screw driver firmly with a hammer, this will unlock the bumper and it will slide off toward the bag end of the machine.
4. turn the vacuum onto the other side, and follow the same process.
5. after both bumpers are removed you can get into the vacuum.
