how can I fix my 1990, oldsmobile, cutlass, brake lights keep going out?

The brake lights keep going out on my olds,cutlass,1990. I have replaced the brakelight switch, and right after that the lights worked, and then they all at once will not work again. I can move the switch and then the lights work again. After driving it they then do not work again as though the switch moves. Any suggestions on what might be the problem that the switch is not staying in place?

This may help... this switch has a strange adjustment procedure.
