well you need about 1.5 of free travel of lever & full release at 1.5 full pull or better said full release .5 to1. off pull.I have a 1976 GS1000 that I love. this comes from my Haynes 1977-1979 997cc,
book says service limits 38.5 mm or 1.51 in
