i have downloaded printer install from web but it was zipped. i have unzipp?

the file.....now what do i do? i just want to install my lexmark z600 printer to my laptap and am not sure of the step to take after downloading the driver/installation from the web.

You don't say what your OS is which doesn't help but assuming XP SP2. Start, Printers & Faxes, Open Add Printer Follow the wizard. At some point you will see Have Disk. At that point use Browse to point the Wizard at the directory into which you unzipped the files.

OK. Your file is zipped. No need to worry. A zip file is a way of packaging up downloads on the internet. It's like a computer equivilent of putting the item in a cardboard box, and taping it up for transport.

There are several programs that can unzip, and I reccomend WinRar. It's easy to use and free. Go to http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm and select the language that you need. Then install it on your PC, and your printer install icon will change. Right click on it, and select the option 'unzip'.
