How can i fix my USB Giga Bank?

how can i fix or retrieve data fron a 4 Gig, Giga Bank USB "jump drive"? the computer recognizes that a USB device is present, the drive powers up (gets warm) but the little blue activity light does NOT come on and the computer doe not "see" the drive.
