hello,
my whirlpool dryer won't turn off when you open the door like it used to.also, the light appears to be out,it doesn't turn on when you open the door like it once did.it stopped shutting off when the light stopped working is there a chance that they are connected ans if i replaced the light it would once again start cutting off when you open the door?

Hello,

It sounds like your door switch is not working properly. With your door closed, your motor should run and your light shut off. With the door open, the motor should shut off and the light come on.
