how can I restore suction in my hoover powermax supreme?

I replaced the bag in the vacuum and afterwards lost suction. It seems like its blowing the opposite way it should. Its called Hoover Powermax Supreme 18.0 self-propelled. Can I fix this myself? Thanks, Kate

Mine was not sucking but blowing lightly, strange?! I found behind the bag in the tube leading down to the vacuum motor and out to the accessory hose attachment it was clogged with tissues and stuff. Its like clearing a clogged artery and now I have new vacuum. It must have been this way for years, wow!

I have the same model. It was clogged through the bottom chute behind the roller. I turned it over, pulled out the roller and dug out the big glob of carpet fuzz.

Works better now than it has in years.

Go back to the beginning,you didn't have a problem until you changed the bag,first make DOUBLE sure the bag is fitted correctly it is easy to make a mistake.
