I have a goodmans sat nav and there is no volume or talking it has suddenly stopped and keeps going off and you have to keep tapping it to come on, all the alerts are on so its nothing Ive done wrong and the battery is charged ok

Make sure the battery on off swith, located at the base of the sat nav is switched on, you may need a tip of a pen to do this.
