why does it keep cutting out?

my 96 corsa 1.6i sport wont tick over on its own,recently replaced section of exhaust.has been stood still for approx 12 months,i've had car running and driving but as soon as you take your foot of accelerator it cuts out,miss the car on the road please help

Hi Paul, sounds like the idle control valve isn't working, remove it and clean it with carb cleaner
