Removing rear tire?

huskee 42 inch tractor--rear tires are coverd with a plastic cap on axle lost my owner manual how do you remove it to remove the tire ive tried till im pooped

A small plastic cap that fits over the axle end? Normally they just prise off with a screwdriver, revealing a circlip and large washer behind.
