FOCUSING AN OVERHEAD PROJECTOR?

I have just obtained an 3M overhead projector to use for illustrating talks.
I am printing onto A4 size acetate sheets from my computer, but when I put them onto the table I have to move the projector a very long way from the screen to get all the sheet in.
Is there a way that this can be done so that the projector can be used nearer the screen.

The head with lenses should move up and down on the mast, this is done by turning the big turn wheel. If it is not this kind OHP (one with a fixed head) then their is a focusing ring on the head of the projector.
