How can I fix my Maytag PYE/G2300?

Similar to the person in Jan 2005, my drier stopped and will not start at all. The house fuse did not blow. I checked the black dime sized internal fuse, located above and to the right of the heating element - it has two red wires on either side is about 1/4 inch thick has a round blue sticker on top with many numbers on the top the largest being 53-0771 (part number?), it does not seem to be "open" - at least the top is not popped. Can it still be bad? What else could cause the drier to totally stop working, it doesn't even try to operate when the on button is pushed?????

It is the thermal fuse. It is located just behind the heater coils and on the right side. The one you saw on top is a thermostat. This one is kind of hidden and a bit harder to see. It is countersunk inside the sheetmetal on the side, has two white wires, the one you checked has two big red wires. I would also check the door switch to make sure it shows a closed connection. It could be bad as well.
