We had a transformer explode days ago, and now my DVD/VCR deck, TV, and a Sony component stereo system will not work. The power strip is on, but no power is going to any device. Could the explosion have sent a power surge that took out everything? If so, should I try to repair, or just replace everything? I'm smart, but no elecronics genius. Would repairs be beyond me because these devices are all too complicated?

you could check the internal fuses but after that i'm afraid it's an engineers job
