Been having problems with the passenger seat in my fiat punto, the seat itself is fine but the inner mechanism that means when you lift the lever to let you passengers in, nothing happens. i cannot get at the mechanism properly so any advice on removing the seat covers would be appreciated, cheers

You cannot actually take off the seat covers as these are factory fitted. I had the same problem with my punto passenger seat when I bought it second hand. Have you tried taking the seat out completely. You do this by unscrewing the bolts holding the seat rails to the floor two at front, two at back. Once you take the seat out it then gives you access to the mechanism underneath. Once you see the mechanism you should see a metal wire thingy that goes upto the handle check to see whether this has come off.
