how do i adjust the brakes on my citroen c5?

Since having new brake pads fitted my brakes are not reacting properly and the handbrake is not as tight
I now have to pump the brakes a couple of times before they stop the car smoothly otherwise if i just try and stop with the brakes the pedal goes to the floor and the wheels almost lock before the car stops

sounds as if you heve air in your braking system.
try and bleed them from back to front this should remove any air in the system.as the way your describing that your pedal goes to the floor.
