My Kenmore Whisperbelt model 116 has lost suction after changing bag?

This has happened before and it corrected itself. When I replace the bag, it loses it's suction. What am I doing wrong?

Check the reset button. After changing the bag be sure all electical contacts are tightly in place, especially the contact emanating from the cannister.
