How do I Clear an air lock in my cooling system?

I Have a Corsa Diesel recently overheated think I have an Airlock as pipes are rock hard whe running recently lost cap for water reservoir and replaced it.

Advice is to run engine up to normal temperature, undo (carefully cos the water's hot!!!!!) the clip on the highest part of the system and pull the hose off to let the water run for a second or two.....again carefully! Then reconnect and tighten clip. Air will always migrate to the highest point in the system. Some cars have a bleed screw at the highest point in a hose. Check to see if yours has. I don't think it has but worth checking. I repeat the warning....be b****y careful as the water is near to boiling. It's quite easy despite this. Best of luck.
