renault clio 03 reg keeps beeping?

My renault clio 03 reg constantly beeps when the engine is turned on. This is nothing to do with the seat belt alarm. When the engine is turned off it carries on beeping until the door is opened then is stops. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! its driving me mad!!
