Audi tt radiator fan not working?

Hi, my audi tt radiator fans are not coming on, The temp gauge goes up to very near the red line when stood, once i move it comes down very quickly to normal. What is the problem?

Hi Shaun, the radiator fans are controlled by the engine ECU if you get the car connected to a diagnostic machine it can test the fan relays
