how can i open bonnet on a vauxhall combo van?

the wire on the pull lever to open bonnet has snapped so now it cannot open.how do i open the bonnet.
my vauxhall combo is a f reg 1.7 diesel

get hold of the broken end of the cable with a pair of pliers or mole grips and pull the bonnet should open
