The drum on my Hoover Logic 1100 washer dryer isn't rotating. The machine worked OK then on another load, it blew the fuse in the plug. The plug was seriously blackened by the blow suggesting something major. The belt is still attached and after replacing the plug and fuse, the machine goes through the motions of filling and unloading through the cycle but the drum doesn't move.

The motor doesn't rotate either but I don't know if there's any other part that may be preventing it from working.

Any help or suggestions?

May be the carbon brushess that have worn down and the dust from them is causing a short circuit in the motor, which may explain the fault rectifying itself partially. may be a faulty armature too though.
