How can I connect 2 computers 2 the internet via router?

I have 1 computer operating on Windows XP and the other older one is on Windows 2000. I have broadband internet from Virginmedia.I have bought an ethernet cable and connected it properly to our Linksys model WRT54GS wireless broadband router and have tried everything I can think of but unfortunately still can not get the 2nd computer even to connect to the internet. Could it be something to do with the computers settings? Can anyone please help?

Hi, thanks for your suggestions and advice! The only disc I have is an old blueyonder broadband one so I tried that. Unfortunately I still can't get 2nd computer connected to the internet. When I click on the internet explorer icon, It says no connection to internet available then after clicking try again....cannot find server or DNS error. I am using a new wired ethernet cable to connect 2nd computer to router . The 2nd pc does not have a wireless card in it.

TRY INSTALLING THE VIRGIN MEDIA DISC FOR THE BROADBAND ON THE 2ND COMPUTER !! ALSO , DOES THE 2ND PC HAVE A WIRELESS CARD IN IT?

You don't say how you are trying to connect the 2nd PC to the router (wireless or wired Ethernet), nor which one is, nor what goes wrong.

So rather that me key every possible problem and solution (hundreds) try a new question with the extra information.
