computer constantly freezes up?

my HP desk top pc freezes up constantly. i use a modem provided by SBC.in contacting SBC they assured me that it was no fault of their equiptment.all my antivirus are up to date,i have uninstalled my multi function printer but io no avail, it still freezes up.

aswell. As good as spybot and ad-aware are, they can miss some coolweb stuff, who are notorious for undisclosed downloads and screwing up windows systems.

Have you checked for spyware and addware? these can slow or even stop a computer. goto www.computer active.co.uk and download ad-aware and spybot search and distroy ignore the other's these are the best free programs to sort you out in that area.
