how do I get the cord to real back in by itself again?

I have an Electrolux canister vacuum Epic 6500 SR
I pulled the power cord out too far and now it won't go back
in by itself.How do I take it apart and repair this?

PULL THE CORD TOWARDS THE BACK OF THE MACHINE A TINY BIT AND LET GO. KEEP DOING THAT UNTIL IT REWINDS.
THEN,THE NEXT TIME YOU USE THE VAC...DON'T PULL THE CORD OUT PAST THE YELLOW TAPE!
