How do I bleed all the air from my diesel system, on my 95 mondeo TD, I had a leaking fuel return line which I renewed, but now I have to use the hand priming pump to start the engine, the engine starts but soon cuts out and then I have to prime it.

I have fitted a new filter and filter head with primer, but the fault is the same, the problem only started when I had the split return line, I am not sure it is air, but I can only start the engine by priming the fuel system with the pump solenoid open (ignition on) even after a long run if I stop the engine I have to primr it again

What makes you think its a problem with an air-lock? It might be related to the fuel supply. Have you checked the fuel filter? It might need draining
or replacing. Diesel engines can pick up a lot of muck!
